Meera felt her heart swell as she looked the little white bundle in her arms.
those long eyelashes lining the closed eyelids
that tiny button nose
the little tuft of hair on her head
Meera drank in every feature of the baby girl she was holding close to her chest. She closed her eyes for just a moment, and then turned and looked towards Raj, who was standing next to her.
“She’s perfect,” Meera whispered, noticing that her husband echoed her exact sentiments in his eyes too.
“She has your chin.” Raj winked, as they made their way home from the Little Star Adoption Centre.
